In celebration of both Taylor and Phi Mu, we’re spotlighting some of the most iconic women in our history. Each of these sisters has left an unforgettable mark on Phi Mu, and we are forever grateful for the paths they’ve paved.

Zenobia Wooten Keller — 💚 Leading Phi Mu for over 38 years
With an astounding 38 years on the National Council, including two terms as National President, Zenobia Wooten Keller holds the title for the longest service at Phi Mu’s highest national level. She also managed Phi Mu’s Executive Office for 33 years! Her unwavering dedication brought Phi Mu into the modern era, and her leadership is our debut story of vision and commitment.

Sarah Amelia Bardwell Wright — 💛 A legacy that shines through our symbols
As one of the earliest members of the Philomathean Society, Sarah Amelia Bardwell Wright designed the first Phi Mu badge. Her fearless creativity still shines today in our symbols, reflecting the timeless strength and beauty of our sisterhood. Her contribution is truly one of our golden moments.

Annadell Craig Lamb — ❤️ Preserving our legacy with unmatched passion
If there’s anyone who embodied the burning red passion of our sisterhood, it was Annadell Craig Lamb. As the author of The History of Phi Mu and the longest-serving member of the Phi Mu Foundation Board of Trustees, Annadell made it her mission to preserve our legacy. Her work on the Foundation’s behalf and her love for Phi Mu resonate deeply with every sister, reminding us that our history is something worth treasuring.

Louisa Manning Elliott — 💜 Our enchanted beginning
Louisa Manning Elliott was Phi Mu’s first National President, serving from 1907-1913. Her leadership set the foundation for what Phi Mu would become, and her time at the helm was nothing short of magical. As the mastermind behind our early years, she helped create the future of Phi Mu with grace and foresight.

Adele Redditt Williamson — 💙 Making Phi Mu’s legacy shimmer
As Phi Mu’s 14th National President and a major player on the national Panhellenic stage, Adele Redditt Williamson spent 12 years ensuring our legacy was secure. Serving as NPC Chairman, she represented Phi Mu with pride and made our name shimmer on the Greek world stage.

Louise Lane Moore — 🌑 A trailblazer in service and sisterhood
Recognized as Outstanding Alumnae Member in 1988, Louise Lane Moore was a shining example of leadership and service. Her role as a mentor and a model of sisterhood made her a trailblazer, and her impact continues to influence Phi Mu women across generations.

Frances Mitchelson — 🩷 Pure love for Phi Mu
At just 29 years old, Frances Mitchelson became Phi Mu’s National President, bringing youthful energy and a deep passion for the organization. Her contributions were always in a state of grace, leading with love and commitment that resonates throughout Phi Mu’s history.

Leona Hughes Hughes — 🩶 A quiet strength in philanthropy
Leona Hughes Hughes dedicated over 26 years to Phi Mu Foundation, establishing the Leona and Lewis Hughes Fund and becoming the first recipient of the Fleur de Lis level of giving. Her epiphany? Realizing the transformative power of philanthropy, she led with a quiet strength that continues to impact Phi Mu’s philanthropic efforts.

Susan Bynum Turner — 🌾 Ensuring our traditions live on
Author of many of Phi Mu’s original rituals, Susan Bynum Turner played a pivotal role in shaping our ceremonies, which are still part of our sisterhood today. Her contributions to the Seven Ceremonies of Phi Mu are a cornerstone of our traditions, ensuring our rituals will live on forevermore.

Our Founders & Lynn Storlien McGraw — 🌙 Guiding Phi Mu through every era
Standing proudly in what we call our Midnights era are our Founders, and right there with them is Lynn Storlien McGraw, our current National President. Now serving her second biennium, Lynn leads with passion and dedication, continuing the legacy of leadership that our Founders began. Together, they represent our starlight, guiding Phi Mu through every era of sisterhood.
